About

Building ecosystems, protecting ideas, and chasing side quests.

I perch at the intersection of industry, academia, and government, helping support innovation across Atlantic Canada.

Currently, I serve as Director of Intellectual Property Programs at Springboard Atlantic, where I lead initiatives designed to help startups and scale-ups navigate, fund, and protect their IP journeys.

Before this, I spent a decade with Mitacs including 5 years Regional Director, Atlantic Canada, expanding industrial research opportunities and managing relationships across the region.

I am driven by an intense curiosity about how things work and how to make them better. That curiosity has led me to some incredibly rewarding side quests from building a province-wide public health initiative that brought dental care to rural schools, to spending over a decade as a franchise operator scaling multiple restaurant brands, mentoring local software founders through their first launches, and training as both a Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Member in the Canadian Armed Forces, among plenty of other initiatives along the way.

Educated with an MBA and a PhD (c) from Memorial University, along with certifications in AI policy and governance from Oxford University, I'm currently based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

I'm always down to chat about IP strategy, tech ecosystems, community health, or the absolute chaos of scaling a business.
